Wash methi leaves.
Chop very very finely.
Add chana dal flour, salt, asafoetida, red chilly powder and turmeric powder. .
Add some water and mix well without lumps.
Cook it on low heat with constant stirring.
Add jaggery and peanuts at this stage and cook.
Now heat oil in a pan and prepare tadka by adding Mustard seeds, when they sputter add asafoetida 1 pinch,haldi powder, red chilly powder, crushed garlic and whole red chilly,sauté little and switch off the heat
Pour the ready tadka on cooked bhaji.Mix well and cook again for some time.
Paatal bhaji is ready to serve with pulka, chapati or steamed rice
