ABOUT Mexican Tacos RECIPE

A very famous and protein rich dish. It is ideal for kids lunch box or in kitty party and very healthy too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For tacos shell:-
  2. Yellow makai flour 2cups
  3. flour or maida 1cup
  4. Little salt
  5. Ajwain (optional) 1 tsp
  6. oil 2-3 tsp
  7. For stuffing :
  8. Red kidney beans 3/4 cup
  9. tomato puree 1/2 cup
  10. Chopped onion 1
  11. garlic paste 2tsp
  12. salt to taste
  13. Red chilly powder 1tsp
  14. Chili flakes 1tsp
  15. tomato ketchup 3tsp
  16. Olive oil or your regular oil 4-5 tsp
  17. coriander leaves 1/4 cup
  18. For uncooked salsa:-
  19. Finely chopped tomato 3
  20. Finely chopped spring onion (white part more) 3-4
  21. coriander leaves 3 tsp
  22. Chopped green chillies 1
  23. salt to taste
  24. Red chilly powder 3/4 tsp
  25. sugar 1 tsp
  26. Chili flakes 1/2tsp
  27. Other Ingredients:-
  28. Grated cabbage 1/2 cup
  29. Grated cheese as required
  30. tomato ketchup
  31. Red chili sauce
  32. oil for frying


  1. For tacos:-
  2. Knead the dough with ingredients mentioned in for tacos shells with the required amount of water.
  3. Rest for few minutes.
  4. Roll out small roti, prick with a fork as it would not blow.
  5. Deep fry in hot oil using a pair of tongs and give a shape of tacos.
  6. Fry till crispy
  7. For rajma stuffing:-
  8. Soak rajma for 8-10 hrs into water.
  9. Then pressure cooks it with salt, cooking soda and required water.
  10. Then strain it.
  11. Mash it coarsely.
  12. In a pan heat oil, when heated, add chopped onion and garlic paste.
  13. Saute it for 1-2 min.
  14. Add tomato puree and saute it till the oil separates.
  15. Add salt (only for gravy as we already added in rajma ).
  16. Add red chilly powder, chilli flakes, tomato ketchup, coriander leaves and mix well.
  17. Add cooked rajma and mix well.
  18. Cook till excess water is evaporated.
  19. Rajma stuffing is ready.
  20. For uncooked salsa:-
  21. Mix chopped tomatoes, chopped onion, chopped green chilli, coriander leaves, salt, red chilly powder, chilli, sugar.
  22. Mix well and press with back-side of a spoon.
  23. Salsa is ready.
  24. Assembling:-
  25. Take tacos shells, put a spoonful rajma stuffing.
  26. Put uncooked salsa over it.
  27. Put some grated cabbage.
  28. Apply tomato ketchup and little red chilli sauce over it.
  29. Spread grated cheese over it and enjoy.
