Chocolate topped Puranpoli attracts children. They can never find that their mom has hidden Almonds and chana dal in it.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chana dal 1/2 cup
  2. APF / whole wheat 125 grams
  3. Milkmaid 200 grams
  4. Green cardamom powder 1/4 tsp
  5. nutmeg powder a pinch
  6. Chocolate ganache 2 tablespoon
  7. almonds 12
  8. Pure ghee 2 tablespoons


  1. Cook Dal in pressure cooker till 4-5 whistles. Add little water.
  2. Knead all purpose flour and keep it aside.
  3. In a blender put dal, green cardamom powder, almond and nutmeg powder. Grind it well.
  4. In a heavy bottomed pan take the ground dal mixture and add Milkmaid into it. Stir well, till it leaves the sides of the pan and gathers like a dough.
  5. Make equal sized balls of the flour dough and dal dough. (I made 4 each)
  6. Roll out the flour dough into round roti and stuff it with dal ball.
  7. Roll the stuffed ball into thin Roti (poli). And fry it both sides with ghee on hot tawa (griddle).
  8. Remove from fire and coat it with chocolate ganache. Sprinkle some milk chocolate scrapping on it or candies to make it more interesting.
