ABOUT Raiwala Marcha RECIPE

This is a typical gujrati pickle which is eaten with bhakri, roti or rotlas.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Bhavnagri chilli or long thick chilies which are not very spicy - 20
  2. Rai na kuriya (split mustard seeds) - 1/4 cup
  3. Salt - 2 tbsp
  4. Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  5. Asafoetida - 1/8 tsp
  6. Fennel seed, crushed - 1 tsp
  7. Oil - 4 tsp
  8. Lemon juice - 1tsp (masala) and extra 1 tbsp to pour on top.

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the chilies. Cut longitudinally and remove seeds.Also cut each chilli into 3 parts so that it is easy to serve.
  2. Now prepare masala by mixing all ingredients. Fill each chilli with this masala. Prepare all chllies. Reserve leftover masala.
  3. Now put these in a sterilised glass jar and put the remaining masala over it. Squeeze lemon juice over the chilies.
  4. Give a light shake so that masala and lemon juice mixes with the chilli pieces. Close the lid and let it rest for a day. Serve with meals.
