Indian Cuisine is very famous for its spicy hot pickles. One of my favorite is raw mango pickle. It is delicious, tangy and spicy which is a specialty of a North Indian pickle.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Raw mango - 1 kg
  2. Mustard oil -1 cup
  3. Red Chilli Powder - 2 tbsp
  4. Fennel seeds - 3 tbsp
  5. Fenugreek seeds - 3 tbsp
  6. Yellow mustard seeds - 3 tbsp
  7. Nigella seeds (kalonji) - 1 tbsp
  8. Hing -1/4 tsp
  9. Salt - 1/3 cup


  1. Wash and wipe the raw mangoes with a cloth and then cut the mangoes into small chunks.
  2. Take a pan and heat mustard oil on low flame. Let it smoke and then turn off the gas and allow it to cool completely.
  3. Take a big bowl and add raw mango pieces and all spices mention in ingredients. Mix it well. Add mustard oil and mix well.
  4. Transfer it into a sterilized and dry glass jar. Tie a muslin cloth at the rim of jar and close the lid well.
  5. Raw mango pickle will be ready within 4-5 days.
