ABOUT Garlic Achar RECIPE

This is a South Indian style of achar / pickle.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 1 Cup - Garlic cloves
  2. 1 tsp - Methi dana
  3. 1/2 Cup - Mustard oil
  4. 50 gm - Yellow rai
  5. 5 tsp - zeera
  6. 1 tsp - Red chilli powder
  7. 1 tsp - Haldi
  8. Salt as per taste
  9. 2 tsp - Jaggery

Instructions

  1. Dry roast methi dana and rai, keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add garlic cloves, saute of 2 minutes.
  3. Add haldi, hing, lemon juice and jaggery, saute for 2 minutes or till jaggery dissolves.
  4. Coarsely grind methi dana, rai and zeera, add this to the pan. Add red chilly powder, salt and mix well.
  5. Store this achar in sterilized glass jar.
