ABOUT Mango Sheera / Mango Halwa RECIPE

The traditional Sheera with mango puree. A twist in the taste.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Semolina - 1 Cup
  2. Sugar - 3/4 Cup
  3. Water - 2 Cups
  4. Ripe Mango - 1
  5. Dry Fruits - 1/4 cup
  6. Ghee - 1 tsp
  7. Oil - 1 tbsp
  8. Saffron or cardamom powder - a pinch

Instructions

  1. Make mango puree with little milk or water. Reserve some for garnishing.
  2. In a pan make sugar syrup by boiling water, cardamom, saffron and sugar. Keep aside.
  3. Heat a nonstick pan add ghee and roast the dry fruits, keep aside. In the same pan add more ghee and roast semolina.
  4. Saute for 3-4 mins or until nice aroma starts coming and semolina turns pink. Add mango puree, sugar syrup and mix well. Make sure there are no lumps.
  5. When the mixture gets thickened switch off the gas. Garnish with mango puree and dry fruits.
  6. Serve hot.
