Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For fafda:
  2. Besan or chik pea flour 1 cup
  3. Ajwain 1/4 tsp
  4. Turmeric powder 1/4tsp
  5. Oil 1 tbs+frying
  6. Baking soda pinch
  7. Salt to taste
  8. For kadi :
  9. Besan or chikpea flour 1/2 cup
  10. Mustard seed 1/4 tsp
  11. Curry leaves 4 to 5
  12. Ginger chilly paste 1/2 tsp
  13. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  14. Aseofatida or hing pinch
  15. Fenugreak seed 1/8 tsp
  16. Water 1 cup
  17. Oil 1 tbsp
  18. Salt to taste


  1. For fafda:
  2. Add all ingredients of fafda in a bowl.
  3. Rub the flour for 2 to 3 minutes with your palm.
  4. Add sufficient water to make a medium hard dough.
  5. Take a small portion and flatten with rolling pin.
  6. Cut it horizontally.
  7. Deep fry in very hot oil and take out in kitchen towel.
  8. For kadi:
  9. Add oil in a nonstick pan add mustard seed, curry leaves.
  10. Add hing, haldi, Methi, salt, and besan.
  11. Add water stirring constantly until thicken.
  12. Switch off the flame and serve with fafda.
  13. It tastes best with fried chilly.
