ABOUT Dahi methi machi RECIPE

A simple, light, flavorful yoghurt based fish curry with minimal ingredients. It gets ready in no time and it's light on the tummy making it a perfect fish curry recipe for summer. Both yoghurt and fenugreek are known for cooling effect hence their intake is must during summer. I made this with rawas fish(Indian Salmon). Any fish can be made this way.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Rawas fish 250g
  2. Onion 1 large, chopped
  3. Methi seeds 1 teaspoon
  4. Kasuri methi 1 teaspoon
  5. Dried chillies 3-4
  6. Curd 1/2 cup
  7. Turmeric powder and salt to marinate the fish
  8. Salt per taste
  9. Mustard oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate the fish pieces with salt and turmeric powder for 10 minutes.
  2. Fry the fishes lightly from both sides and keep aside.
  3. To the Kadai add mustard oil, when the oil is hot add fenugreek seeds and dried red chillies.
  4. Add chopped onions and saute. Add Kasuri methi.
  5. Once the onion turn pink add little water to cook the onions completely.
  6. Add half cup curd and mix well. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. Add the fried fish pieces and simmer for 5 minutes.
  8. Keep it covered for 10 minutes before serving with white rice.
