This is a very famous in Rajasthan and here i have used curd and dry fruits for that extra richness in the dish.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 250 gram haldi [turmeric powder]
  2. 1 cup Dahi [curd]
  3. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  4. 1 tsp red chilly powder
  5. 1 tbsp ghee
  6. 20-25 raisins [kishmish]
  7. 15 Kaju [cashew nuts]
  8. 15 to 20 curry leaves
  9. Salt


  1. Wash the raw turmeric with enough water.
  2. Now peel them and grate the raw turmeric.
  3. Now heat some ghee in a pan.
  4. Now add the cumin seeds, followed by the curry leaves. Let them splutter.
  5. Now add the grated raw turmeric, saute for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Now add the cashew nuts and raisins, saute for 2-3 minutes more.
  7. Now add the red chilly powder and curd. Mix well.
  8. Now add salt according to your taste.
  9. Let this get cooked and once the curry leaves the sides of the pan, switch off the flame. Serve hot.
