ABOUT Chelo kebab RECIPE

A famous fusion dish of Peter Cat restaurant-Kolkata, which i tried to replicate in my kitchen.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Basmati rice-1 cup
  2. Chicken cubes-200gm
  3. Ginger garlic paste-4 tbsp
  4. Chilli powder-1/2tsp
  5. Onion paste-4 tbsp
  6. Hung curd-8 tbsp
  7. Mutton keema-100gm boiled
  8. Butter-2 tbsp
  9. Sugar and salt as per taste
  10. Eggs-2
  11. Bread crumbs
  12. Sunflower oil
  13. Onion- 1 diced
  14. capsicum-1 diced
  15. Carrot and beans-sliced and boiled
  16. Tomato-1 diced


  1. Cook the basmati rice for 15 minutes approx or till done and keep aside.
  2. Boil and stir fry the beans and carrots.
  3. Marinate the chicken pieces with 2 tbsp curd, ginger garlic paste and onion paste-2 tbsp each.Also add salt and chili powder.Keep aside for half an hour.
  4. In another bowl add the mutton keema and marinate using the same ingredients as above.Leave aside for half an hour.
  5. Now take a frying pan add make the egg poach.Keep aside carefully.
  6. In the same pan,add 2tbsp butter and mix the rice well.
  7. Add a little salt.
  8. Now arrange the chicken pieces on skewers and also line up the tomato, capsicum and onions in the same way.
  9. Place the skewers in grill mode for 12 min in the microwave.
  10. Now place the boiled mutton keema in the skewers along with a little bread crumb and grill it for 20-25 min.
  11. Arrange the rice on a plate and top it with the egg poach.
  12. Place the kebabs and enjoy the lovely meal.
