ABOUT Italian Focaccia RECIPE

Soft bread texture called focaccia is a traditional delicacy enjoyed by Italians:heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes:. It can be eaten just on its own with your favourite topping.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 4 cups flour
  2. 1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive oil
  3. 1 tbsp salt
  4. 1 cup lukewarm water
  5. 2 tbsp Sugar
  6. 1 package dry yeast
  7. 6 cloves medium sized garlic
  8. Olives aa required
  9. Mozarella cheese

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add the water yeast and 1 tsp of sugar and allow it to sit there for 5 min to activate the yeast
  2. In another bowl combine flour salt oil and the remaining sugar. Then add to this the water yeast mixture. Turn the mixer on and let it come to a dough. Mix it until smooth and elastic for good 10-15 min
  3. Place the dough in an oiled bowl. Cover it with cling film and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hr 10 min.
  4. After the dough has become double in size dump the dough into an greased jelly roll pan. Stretch the dough out to an rectangular shape. Make bunch of dimples in the dough and add in the garlic olives and drizzle over olive oil, salt and pepper.
  5. Cover the pan with kitchen towel or cling film and allow the dough to rise for half an hr Bake in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for 25 min
  6. Allow it to cool completely and enjoy !!
