Love this dry version of making Arbi/colocasia by adding raw onion slices ,green chilli with plain curd or raita enjoy with chapatis or pranthas

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Arbi /colocasia. -400gms
  2. Onions -2large
  3. Mustard oil -2cups
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Turmeric powder -1tsp
  6. Chilli powder -1tsp
  7. Green chillies -5-6whole
  8. Anaardaana powder -1Tbsp /aamchur powder
  9. Carom seeds (optional)-1tsp
  10. Garam masala -2tsp

Instructions

  1. Wash and pat dry arbi /colocasia or sun dry it.
  2. Scrub the skin softly with knife and cut into julienne.
  3. Peel out onions then smashed it with hands we will get big onion petals .
  4. Smoke mustard oil in a wok .
  5. Let it cool down a lilttle bit .
  6. Add arbi julienne ,green chilled ,charon seeds (options) stir it in oil on low flame .
  7. Add onion pieces mix it for 2 minutes
  8. Cover the wok with lid and keep the flame on low .
  9. Stir after 5 -5 minutes interval till arbi /colocasia gets tender.
  10. When arbi /colocasia gets tender add salt ,turmeric powder ,red chilli powder give a gud mix.
  11. Cover with lid for 2 more minutes on low flame so that spices mix in it .
  12. Add anardana /pomegranate seeds or u may add aamchur powder and mix it thoroughly off the flame
  13. If u will find mustard oil is more then slightly tilt the wok and take out the excess oil with spoon.
  14. Ur delicious Chatpati Arbi Do Pyaaja is ready to serve with chapatis ,paranthas
  15. Enjoy!!With curd or raita
