Very few of you know about this different noodles dabba gosht recipe which is very common and very famous weekend street food in Surat. Must try and make your dinner a unique one.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Chicken- 500 grams
  2. Ginger garlic paste- 1 tablespoon
  3. Water- 2 Cups
  4. Oil- 2 cups
  5. Onions- 5 medium sized (finely sliced)
  6. Curry leaves- 8 to 10
  7. Homemade dabba masala:
  8. Peanuts- 1 tablespoon
  9. Dry coconut- 1 tablespoon
  10. Coriander powder- 2 teaspoon
  11. Cumin powder- 1 teaspoon
  12. Garam masala- 1/2 teaspoon
  13. Haldi- 1/4 teaspoon
  14. Green chillies- 4 to 5
  15. Red chilly powder- 1 teaspoon
  16. Poppy seeds- 1 teaspoon
  17. Garnishing:
  18. Eggs- 3 (boiled) cut in round
  19. Tomatoes- 2 cut in round
  20. Noodles- 100 grams (boiled with oil, salt and water)
  21. Cilantro- chopped for garnishing


  1. Heat oil. Caramelize onions by adding curry leaves. Keep some onions for garnishing.
  2. Roast dabba masalas. Make a paste of it. onions+ peanuts+ dried coconut+ coriander powder+ cumin powder+ garam masala+ turmeric powder+ green chillies+ red chilly powder+ poppy seeds. Make into a smooth fine paste and if necessary add little bit of water.
  3. Heat oil. Add in chicken. Add ginger garlic paste. Sauté it. Add above paste and water. Cook till the chicken is tendered.
  4. Meanwhile keep aside the sliced tomatoes, boiled eggs and boiled noodles.
  5. Assembling: First put chicken with gravy. Then chopped cilantro. (keep some gravy for the garnishing). Then put noodles with gravy- now tomatoes then sliced eggs. Again pour some gravy and now some cilantro.
