Ingredients to make Rava Gulab Jamun (Suji/semolina based)

  • 2 cup rava/suji/semolina
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoon milk powder
  • 50 grams khoya/mawa/khoa
  • 1 teaspoon elaichi powder/cardamom
  • 4 -5 almonds for garnishing
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 1 ½ cup water
  • oil or ghee

How to make Rava Gulab Jamun (Suji/semolina based)

  1. In a heated pan add rava and cook for 4-5 minutes. Don't wait for the rava to turn brown.
  2. Add milk and cook till the mixture becomes dry.
  3. Transfer the mixture from the pan to a plate or a bowl and wait till it comes to room temperature.
  4. Then add milk powder, koya to it and form it into a dough.
  5. Start shaping the dough into small round or oval balls.
  6. In a pan add oil and cook the balls till it turns golden brown. Remove the balls in a plate.
  7. Then in a vessel add sugar and water and add elaichi powder and stir till it becomes a sugary syrup.
  8. Add all the rava balls to the hot syrup.

My Tip:

If the sugar syrup turns black or dark brown in colour then add 1-2 teaspoon of milk and it will turn to normal.
