ABOUT Mango Rice RECIPE

The tangy and sweet taste of mango makes this rice unique.I love mango and I love rice so this is for me specially on a no onion,garlic day.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Basmati rice-1 cup
  2. Ghee-1tsp
  3. Oil-1tsp
  4. Cummin seeds-1tsp
  5. Mango -2 (medium)
  6. Sugar-1tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Turmeric-1/2 tsp
  9. Lemon juice-1tsp
  10. Finely chopped green chilli-2

Instructions

  1. Peal and cut mango into small pieces add 1/2 cup water blend to make 1 cup puree.
  2. Heat oil and ghee in a pressure cooker.
  3. Add Cummins when it began to crackle add green chillies fry.
  4. Add washed basmati rice to it.
  5. Fry for 3 minutes,add mango puree and 1 cup water to it.
  6. Add salt, turmeric, and sugar to it.Mix well.
  7. Close the lid bring to full pressure then keep in simmer for 5 minutes.
  8. Switch off the gas.Let it be cool naturally.
  9. Open lid add lemon juice.Mix well.
  10. Serve hot garnished with mango and red chilly.
