ABOUT Manchuria pops with dipping sauce RECIPE

A simple vegetarian Manchuria with the vegetables available in our home pantry. We have always had dry Manchuria stir fried in the sauce but now we have this in a lollipop style with a yummy dipping sauce which you will lick even after you've finished with the pops. An easy dish with a little pre preparation. Enjoy the crispy crunchy pops with the sweet tangy spicy dipping sauce. Garnished with finely chopped green capsicum adds colour and beauty to the pops. A perfect party snack loved by all, kids or elders, birthdays or kitty's. Make it on any occasion, celebrate.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the Manchuria balls:
  2. carrot - 2 medium
  3. cabbage - 1/4 of a medium cabbage
  4. onion - 1 chopped
  5. French beans - handfull
  6. APF - 3 tbsps
  7. cornflour - 3 tbsps
  8. Rice flour - 1 tbsp
  9. Soya sauce - 1 tsp
  10. ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  11. pepper powder - 1 tsp
  12. salt - 1/2 tsp
  13. oil for Deep frying
  14. For the dipping sauce :
  15. garlic - 2 tsps chopped
  16. ginger - 1 tsp chopped
  17. Red chilli flakes - 1/2 tsp
  18. Tomatoe sauce - 2 tbsps
  19. Soya sauce - 1 tsp
  20. water - 1/2 cup
  21. oil - 2 tsps


  1. Grate the carrots,Chop vegetables finely and add to a vessel.
  2. Now add all the ingredients to be mixed
  3. Mix well and form lemon sized balls
  4. In the mean while keep the oil ready for deep frying
  5. Now fry the balls in batches of 3 or 4
  6. Fry all the balls. Drain on a kitchen tissue.
  7. Now for the sauce take a sauce pan and add 2 tsps of oil
  8. Add the chopped ginger, garlic. Stir fry
  9. Now add the red chilli flakes and stir fry
  10. Now add the Sauces and the water
  11. Stir and simmer for 4 to 5 minutes
  12. Switch of the gas. Sauce is ready.
  13. No need of adding any cornflour. As it cools it will thicken a bit. And believe me it's tastier this way.
  14. Now peirce ice cream sticks into the Manchuria balls. Add the dipping sauce with a spoon on the ball. Here I am also showing you the consistency of the sauce.
  15. Garnish lastly with finely chopped capsicum
