ABOUT Manchurian Stuffed Idli RECIPE

Manchurian stuffed chinese idli is a combination of south indian food and chinese. Here is a video of how to stuff manchurian ball in steamed idli and how to make lip smacking manchurian gravy to serve and enjoy with stuffed idlis.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For Manchurian Balls
  2. 1 medium sized grated patoto
  3. 1/2 cup grated carrot
  4. 1/2 cup chopped cabbage
  5. 1/2 cup chopped onion
  6. 1/2 cup chopped capsicum
  7. 1/2 cup spring onion's white
  8. 1/2 tsp salt
  9. 1/2 black pepper powder
  10. 2 tbsp corn flour
  11. 2 cup fermented idli batter
  12. For gravy-
  13. 1 tbsp ginger juliennes
  14. 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  15. 1 tbsp grated carrot
  16. 1 tbsp chopped capsicum
  17. 1/2 Cup spring onion's greens
  18. 1 tbsp spring onion's whites
  19. 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  20. 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  21. 1 tbsp soya sauce
  22. 1 tsp chopped green chilli
  23. 1/2 tsp salt
  24. 1 tsp red chilli sauce
  25. 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  26. 1 tbsp Corn flour
  27. 1 tbsp French beans.

Instructions

  1. Mix potatoes, cabbage, carrots, capsicum, onion, black pepper salt and corn flour.
  2. Make small lemon size balls and flatten them with palm
  3. Coat in corn flour.
  4. Fry in hot oil. Keep aside.
  5. Add salt in Idli batter.
  6. Grease the Idli mould.
  7. Fill half idli mould with idli batter.
  8. Place fried Manchurian balls and cover with idli batter.
  9. Steam for 10 Minutes on high and 5 minutes on low heat.
  10. Remove from heat and demould them.
  11. For gravy heat oil in a pan.
  12. Add onion, ginger, green chilli and saute.
  13. Add all vegetables and cook for a minute.
  14. Add salt, black pepper powder and all types of sauce.
  15. Add 500ml water and bring to a boil.
  16. Add corn flour in 1/4 cup water, mix and add in boiling water.
  17. Stir continuously. Cook for 2-3 Minutes.
  18. Add Manchurian Stuffed idli in prepared gravy and garnish with spring onions green.
  19. Innovative South Indian Chinese Manchurian Stuffed Idli is ready to serve!!
