ABOUT Gobi lollipop RECIPE

A perfect party starter with cauliflower. Its quick and requires few simple ingredients.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 10-12 cauliflower florets
  2. 1/4 cup cornflour
  3. 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  4. 2 tbsp rice flour
  5. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  6. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  7. Juice of 1/2 Lemon
  8. 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  9. Salt to taste
  10. A pinch of red food colour
  11. Water as required for batter
  12. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut a cauliflower in small florets and wash it nicely.
  2. Heat water in a vessel, once it comes to boil add cauliflower florets and cook for 4-5 minutes or till its half cooked.
  3. Drain out the half cooked cauliflower florets.
  4. Pat dry on a kitchen towel.
  5. In a mixing bowl take cornflour, all purpose flour, rice flour, ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, baking soda, lemon juice, red food colour and salt.
  6. Add water and make a smooth lump free batter.
  7. The batter should be not so thin or thick.
  8. Dip cauliflower florets completely in the prepared batter.
  9. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry cauliflower florets till crispy and golden brown in colour.
  10. Similarly fry rest of the cauliflower florets.
  11. Take out on a tissue paper to remove the excess oil.
  12. Wrap the stem of cauliflower florets with silver foil.
  13. Serve hot with chilli garlic mayonnaise and salad.
