Ingredients to make Cardamom Cupcakes With Yogurt Frosting

  • 1 & 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 & 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 and 2 tablespoons sugar (powdered)
  • 3/4 cup thick yogurt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 6 green cardamoms powdered
  • For frosting - 400grams yogurt
  • 4 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 3 green cardamoms powdered
  • 10 pistachios powdered

How to make Cardamom Cupcakes With Yogurt Frosting

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease one 12 cup cake tray
  2. Whisk together first four ingredients (dry ingredients)
  3. In a large bowl, mix remaining ingredients (wet ingredients)
  4. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Pour into the prepared tray. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden on top and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on the rack
  6. To prepare the frosting, take yogurt in a muslin cloth and hang for 4-5 hours till the water drains out and you get thick yogurt.
  7. Take yogurt in a bowl. add sugar. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  8. Spread a spoonful of frosting on cupcakes. Smoothen with the back of a spoon. You may use a piping bag also to ice the top.
  9. Sprinkle some powdered pistachio on top. Serve

My Tip:

Adjust sugar according to taste in the batter as well as frosting.
