ABOUT Potato vada RECIPE

Grated potato made to vada and served with hot tomato chutney

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Potato grated 1 cup
  2. Red onion 1/4 cup finely sliced
  3. Egg 1
  4. Gram flour 2 tablespoon
  5. Rice flour 1 tablespoon
  6. Chilli chopped 3
  7. Ginger chopped 1 tspoon
  8. garam masala half teaspoon
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Curry leaves chopped
  11. Coriander leaves
  12. Pepper optional
  13. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Squeeze the potato to remove excess water. Add chopped ginger. onion, curry leaves, coriander leaves and chilli to this. Mix well with hands.
  2. Beat the egg well with a spoon. Add this to the potato mix.
  3. Mix all the dry ingredients and add to the potato mixture. Do not add water to mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a pan . Make vada using a spoon. Fry both side till in low flame till light brown color.
