Ingredients to make Nachni Satv / Ragi Pudding

  • Ragi flour 1 Cup ( 128 Grams)
  • coconut Milk 1 Cup (225 Ml)
  • jaggery as per sweetness
  • cashew Nuts A Handful
  • cardamom powder 1 tsp
  • Ghee / clarified butter for greasing a pan
  • salt A Pinch

How to make Nachni Satv / Ragi Pudding

  1. Grease a pan with ghee. Take ragi flour in a bowl. Add 2 cups water and let it stand for 1/2 an hour.
  2. After half an hour, you will see black pieces of peels floating on water. Decant it by pouring out the water slowly .
  3. Again pour 2 cups of water and repeat the process till you see all the black pieces out .
  4. Use the flour sitting at the bottom for satv. Pour it in the heavy bottom vessel.
  5. Add Cashew Nuts,pinch of salt, mix well.Once it thickens completely and changes color, immediately transfer it into greased pan.Keep it for cooling.
  6. Once it cools down, cut them into square or diamond shapes.
  7. You are ready to eat your delicious ragi pudding or nachni satv.
