Tiny crisp rice balls

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Raw Rice Flour - 1 Cup
  2. Urad Dal Flour - 2 tbsp
  3. butter - 4 tbsp
  4. Hing - a pinch
  5. Salt - per requirement
  6. Grates Coconut - 2 tbsp ( optional )
  7. Oil - enough to deep fry
  8. Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Slightly roast the rice flour in a heated pan for 2 seconds.
  2. Prepare the Urad dal flour by first heating the Urad seeds followed by coarse powdering.
  3. Sieve both the flours to remove any hard particles
  4. Add in salt, cumin seeds into the rice flour. Add in the Urad dal flour as well.
  5. Add in the butter at room temperature, and mix well to form breadcrumb like texture.
  6. Add in enough water to make a medium thick dough.
  7. Make out tiny balls out of the dough.
  8. Fry them in batches in hot oil until crispy n golden in color.
