ABOUT Baklava Muffins RECIPE

Super soft muffins with a crunchy filling and topped with warmed honey.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For the filling
  2. 100 gms mixed nuts chopped
  3. 75 gms brown sugar
  4. 1.5 tsp cinnamon powder
  5. 45 gm melted butter
  6. For the muffins
  7. 210 gms All purpose flour
  8. 2 tsp baking powder
  9. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  10. 100 gms caster sugar
  11. 1 egg
  12. 45 gm melted butter
  13. 250 ml buttermilk
  14. To top
  15. 125 ml warmed, runny honey.


  1. Pre heat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Prepare a muffin tray by putting the muffin liners
  3. In a bowl, mix together the ingredients for filling, nuts, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter. Keep aside.
  4. In another large bowl, add the all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and sugar.
  5. Mix well
  6. Add in the egg, butter and buttermilk
  7. Mix together
  8. Pour into the liners till 1/3rd full or a tsp of batter
  9. Sprinkle some filling
  10. Cover with another tsp of batter
  11. Top with some more filling
  12. Continue in other muffin liners similarly till all your batter is used up
  13. Bake for 15 minutes or till the muffins are done
  14. Take the muffins out from the oven and pour some honey on top
  15. Make sure you pour the honey on hot muffins
  16. Serve warm
