ABOUT Bengali Goja RECIPE

This a fried bengali sweet loved by all, its very easy and we can store it for long time and have during festivals.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Maida 2 cups
  2. Sugar 2 cups
  3. Baking powder 1/4th teaspoon
  4. Kalonji 1 teaspoon
  5. Ghee 2 tablespoon
  6. Salt 1 teaspoon
  7. Water 1 and 1/2 cup
  8. Green cardamom, lightly toasted and cracked(2)
  9. Lemon juice 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Make the sugar syrup
  2. Add sugar,water and cardamom.
  3. Let it boil and stir frequently.
  4. Add lemon juice .
  5. Bring it to 2 string consistency.
  6. Let it cool.
  7. Now to make Goja
  8. Mix the flour, baking powder,salt.
  9. Kalonji and ghee.
  10. Mix well.
  11. Make dough, but don't make it soft.
  12. Divide the dough into equal parts.
  13. Once you have built up 4–5 layers, .
  14. deep-fry the gojas in oil till
  15. Add the Goja in the syrup.
  16. After 2mins remove the sweets.
  17. Now ready to have it.
