ABOUT Aloo Phulkofir Dalna RECIPE

This is a vegetarian Bengali recipe that has been made without onion and garlic.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 medium cauliflower florets
  2. 2 medium potatoes peeled and cubed
  3. 1 Tomato chopped
  4. A handful of green peas
  5. 1 green chilli slit
  6. 1 bay leaf
  7. 1 dried Red chilli
  8. Cumin seed 1 tsp
  9. Turmeric powder 2 tsp
  10. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  11. Coriander powder 2 tsp
  12. Garam masala 1 tsp
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Ghee 1 tsp
  15. 2 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry the cauliflower florets by adding a pinch of salt and turmeric powder. Fry till golden brown. Keep aside.
  2. Add the potatoes, salt & turmeric. Fry till golden. Keep aside.
  3. In the remaining oil add bay leaf, dried red chilli and cumin seeds.
  4. In a bowl mix ginger paste, turmeric, coriander, chilli powder and salt with 2 tbsp water.
  5. Add the paste and saute for 2 min.
  6. Add the tomato, chillies and peas. Mix well.
  7. Add the fried cauliflower and potatoes. Mix well. Coat with masala.
  8. Add 1 cup water. Cover and cook for 10 min till the potatoes are soft.
  9. Add ghee and mix. Cook for 2 min.
  10. Remove into a serving bowl and serve.
