ABOUT Bittergourd Potato Fry RECIPE

This two veggies is my favourite combo. They go very well together. Perfect side dish with dal and rice and even goes well with rotis and chapattis. It is easy and quick to make with simple ingredients easily available in your kitchen. Try this combo and I am sure you will love it.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Bittergourd - 2 cut into rounds
  2. Potato - 2 cut into rounds
  3. Onion - 1 finely slices
  4. Tomato - 1 small chopped
  5. Green Chilly - 2-3 slit or chopped
  6. Garlic - 3-4 sliced
  7. Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
  8. Coriander powder - ½ tsp
  9. Cumin powder - ½ tsp
  10. Garam masala powder - ½ tsp
  11. Chilly powder - ½ tsp
  12. Oil - 3 tbsp
  13. Salt to taste


  1. Heat oil in a pan, add the garlic, onion and green chilly, salt and fry till onion turns soft.
  2. Add the tomatoes and fry till mushy. Add the spices powders and mix well and fry for a min.
  3. Add the potatoes and bittergourd, cover the pan and fry on low-medium heat stirring occasionally for about 10-15 mins.
  4. When the potatoes and bittergourd is almost cooked, increase the heat to high and stir fry for about 3-5 mins stirring frequently and take off the heat.
