crispy bittergourd chips is a good choice for those who don't like bittergourd, most of us avoid this healthy vegetable because of its bitterness, but the crispy chips version makes a best sloution for it.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 bittergourd/karela
  2. 1 tbsp gram flour
  3. 1 1/2 tbsp corn flour
  4. 2 tbsp rice flour
  5. salt to taste
  6. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  7. 1/2 tsp dry mango powder
  8. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  9. 1/4 tsp white sesame seeds
  10. oil to deep fry


  1. wash the bittergourd and pat dry
  2. slice off the two ends, then cut the bittergourd into thin slices
  3. put these slices in a bowl and sprinkle 1/2 tsp salt over it, mix well and keep aside for 30 minutes
  4. after half an hour, drain all excess water from bittergourd
  5. in a bowl, take gram flour, corn flour, rice flour, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, dry mango powder and sesame seeds, mix well
  6. add the bittergourd slices to the flour mixture, sprinkle few drops of water so that the spices coats all the pieces well
  7. heat oil in a deep pan on medium flame
  8. add the masala coated slices little at a time and fry till crispy
  9. drain and put onto a paper towel
  10. serve as snacks or as a side dish for rice
