okra is stuffed with spices then shallow fried with onions

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Half kilogram of okra
  2. Two medium sized onions
  3. mustard oil three tablespoons
  4. salt to taste
  5. red chilli powder one teaspoon
  6. dry coriander powder two tablespoons
  7. dry mango powder one teaspoon
  8. turmeric powder half teaspoon
  9. garam masala half teaspoon


  1. Wash okra and pat dry with a kitchen napkin
  2. cut both the ends of okra and slit lengthwise from middle.
  3. mix all the spices well
  4. with a spoon fill each okra with it
  5. Now heat 2 tablespoons mustard oil in a pan
  6. Add okra to the hot oil in the pan.
  7. cook okra until 90% cooked.
  8. Now add the remaining oil in another pan
  9. add lengthwise chopped onions to it
  10. cook onions for two minutes with salt
  11. add the cooked okra to the onions
  12. cook both onions and okra for three more minutes flipping in between , serve.
