Sweet and sour chutney that can be served with some samosas or kachoris.

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. 250gm red imli [tamarind]
  2. 250gm seedless dates(kajur)
  3. 250gm grated jaggery (gud)
  4. 2-3cup water
  5. black salt as per taste
  6. Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak imli,gud,khajur in 3cups of water for 10-15minutes
  2. Remove the seeds from imli and mash kajur and gud, also mash and strain the pulp.
  3. Now place a pan over the gas and pour the above pulp,add chilly powder, black salt and bring it to boil 15-20min on simmer
  4. When it reaches thick consistency ,switch of the gas
  5. Strain the above mixture from soup strainer. chutney is ready
  6. When it cooled enough, store in sterile glass jar or bottle in fridge
