ABOUT Gur Imli Ki Chutney RECIPE

This chutney is sweet, tangy, a little spicy, and just YUM!! This particular recipe is my mum’s recipe. This chutney is always there in my fridge. Its becomes easy to make some delicious snack is you have some things ready to go.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup Imli/ Tamarind
  2. 1 cup Gur/ Jaggery or more if you want more sweeter
  3. Black salt as per taste
  4. Black pepper powder as per taste
  5. Roasted Cumin Powder as per taste
  6. 2 inches Cinnamon stick
  7. 3-4 clove
  8. 1 star anise
  9. 4-6 black peppercorn


  1. Soak imli in 1 cup warm water for 15-20 min
  2. Now mash the imli mix and strain the pulp. Keep aside.
  3. In a heavy bottom pan melt gur/jaggery. Now add imli pulp and cook for about 5 mins.
  4. Add salt and masalas.
  5. Let it cook for bother 5 min.
  6. Cool and store in an airtight container.
  7. Ps. You can store this for upto three months.
