Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Date 15-20 seedless
  2. Tamarind 1 cup
  3. Fennel/saunf 2 tsp
  4. Jeera 1/2 tsp
  5. Jaggery/gur 1 /2 cup
  6. Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  7. Black salt 1-2 tsp
  8. Saunth 1tsp(optional)
  9. Curry leaves 5-10
  10. Black mustard 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. De seed dates and chop finely.
  2. Soak tamarind in some water for sometime and make a pulp out of it.
  3. Dry roast jeera and saunf and blend to a powder.
  4. Take a pan add dates tamarind jaggery and some water bring to a boil and stir to make jaggery melt, cook covered for 10 mins.
  5. Add dry ingredients jeera saunf powder, black salt,red chilli and saunth to cooking pan.
  6. Cook for 2 mins, it can be used as it is or blended.
  7. Tempering with curry leaves and black mustard can be done when using with vada or dahi bhalla.
