ABOUT Kaddu ki sabji RECIPE

This is a delicious and easy curry, made with pumpkins to be served with some roti on the side.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Kaddu [pumpkin] 500 grams
  2. Jaggery or gur 1 small spoon
  3. Methi dana [fenugreek seeds] - 1 tsp
  4. kadi patta [curry leaves] 5-6 leaves
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Kashmiri lal mirch powder [kashmiri red chilly powder] - 1 tsp
  7. Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Haldi powder [turmeric powder] -1/2 tsp
  9. Rai or sarso [mustard seeds] 1/2 tsp
  10. Jeera [cumin seeds] 1/2 tsp
  11. Amchoor [dry mango powder] - 1/4 th tsp
  12. Oil 1 tablespoon


  1. Heat some oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and cumin seeds. Let them crackle.
  2. Now add the curry leaves.
  3. Then add the pieces of pumpkin, and stir fry them for about 3-4 minutes on a medium flame.
  4. Then add salt and all the powdered masalas into it, stir and cook with a lid on.
  5. If required, or if the masala tends to burn, then add little water and cook with a lid on for about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Once the pumpkin pieces are tender enough, then add the jaggery powder. mix well.
  7. When the kaddu becomes soft sprinkle lemon juice and garnish with some coriander leaves.your recipe is ready to serve.
