Very easy method of preparing pumpkin but very tasty.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Pumpkin- 500 gms
  2. Onion- 1 big
  3. Oil- 1 tbsp
  4. Cumin Seeds- 1 tsp
  5. Asafoetida- 1 pinch
  6. Fenugreek seeds- 8 to 10
  7. Salt as per taste
  8. Turmeric- 1/2 tsp
  9. Coriander cumin powder- 1 tbsp
  10. Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
  11. Amchoor- 1 tsp
  12. Coriander for garnishing


  1. Chop pumpkin into medium size pieces.
  2. Take oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
  3. Now add methi dana and asafoetida.
  4. Then add chopped onions and saute till they become translucent.
  5. Add pumpkin pieces and cover. Let it cook for 5 minutes
  6. When pumpkin becomes soft, add the spices and salt.
  7. Mix properly and let cook for a minute. Then put off flame.
  8. Garnish with coriander.
  9. Serve hot with rotis.
