ABOUT shahi bottlegourd RECIPE

A very simple bottlegourd, made in a very royal manner !! This can be just served with some roti on the side.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 bottlegourd medium
  2. paneer 1 bowl
  3. salt as per taste
  4. Garam masala 1 tsp
  5. all purpose flour 1 tbsp
  6. Oil for fry
  7. red chilly or green chilly - 2
  8. For gravy :
  9. leftover part of bottlegourd after scooped out - 1/2 cup
  10. Bay leaves - 1
  11. Onion paste - 1/4 th cup
  12. Tomato puree - 1/2 cup
  13. Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  14. Curd 1tbsp
  15. Cream - 1 tbsp
  16. sugar 1tbsp
  17. butter
  18. ksuri methi - 2 tsp
  19. salt as per taste
  20. Turmeric powder 1tsp
  21. Coriander powder 2tsp
  22. Garam Masala powder - 1/4 th tsp

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the bottle gourd into roundels, scoop out the pulp and keep it aside.
  2. make stuffing with ingredients and fill in bottlegourd
  3. fill bottlegourd with stuffing and roll them in maida.
  4. now fry it till bottlegourd soft
  5. Now for the gravy, heat a pan with oil..add bay leaf followed by ginger garlic paste.
  6. now add the onion paste , saute till golden brown and then add the red chilly powder and the turmeric powder.
  7. cook and add tomato puree followed by coriander powder..cook till the oil separates from the masala.
  8. now add curd and stir continuously
  9. now add kasuri methi, garam masala and cream
  10. stir and add bottlegourd and cook for 5 min with covered lid, check for seasoning and serve.
