ABOUT Beans Nei thuvattal RECIPE

Beans fried in dal powder and ghee, this can be served with some sal rice or eaten with just some hot rice too.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Beans – 2 cups
  2. Channa dhal – 2 tbsp
  3. Roasted gram dhal – 2 tbsp
  4. Urad dhal – 2 tbsp
  5. Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
  6. Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  7. Ghee – 1 tbsp
  8. Salt – to taste

Instructions

  1. Dry roast channa dhal, urad dhal, roasted gram dhal and grind it to a fine powder.
  2. Mix turmeric powder and red chilli powder with the above ground powder.
  3. Wash and cut the beans to 1 inch length. Add enough water and cook it with salt.Drain the excess water  and keep it aside.
  4. In a kadai, add a tbsp of ghee and fry the ground powder for a minute. You will get a nice aroma.
  5. Mix the cooked beans with the fried powder and toss it.Serve it with rice.
  6. I loved to eat the curry just mixed with the rice with little ghee adding to it. It was super yummy.
