  • tamarind small lemon size
  • Rasam powder 2 tbsp
  • hing
  • turmeric Powder
  • salt 2 tsp
  • ghee / oil
  • jeera for seasoning
  • curry leaves
  • coriander leaves
  • Tuvr dal
  • tomatoes 2

How to make Paruppu Rasam

  1. SOAK TAMARIND
  2. PRESSURE COOK TUVR DAL AND TOMATOES. ADD WATER AND MASH THEM
  3. BOIL TAMARIND EXTRACT, HING, TURMERIC AND RASAM POWDER
  4. ADD REQUIRED SALT
  5. BOIL FOR 10 MINS
  6. ADD MASHED TUVR DAL AND TOMATOES
  7. ADD CORIANDER LEAVES WHEN RASAM STARTS BOILING
  8. WHEN A FROTHY LAYER IS FORMED, ADD SEASONING(GHEE, JEERA AND CURRY LEAVES)
  9. SERVE HOT WITH RICE AND CURRY

My Tip:

You can add more pepper powder and jeera powder if you need spicy rasam
