Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Elbow macaroni 1 cup
  2. White butter 2 tbsp
  3. All purpose flour 2 tbsp + 2 tbsp
  4. Milk 1 cup
  5. Cheese, grated 1 cup
  6. Salt and pepper to taste
  7. Sprig Syracuse mix 1.5 - 2 tbsp
  8. Frozen Spring roll sheets, 10
  9. Oil to fry

Instructions

  1. Boil 4-5 cups water in a pan and add salt enough to make it taste like sea water. The pasta should absorb salt in the process of getting cooked and not just afterwards.
  2. Add macaroni once it is boiling and Cook till al dente. This takes about 8-9 mins
  3. Drain them, wash in a sieve with cold water to stop cooking process and add a little oil and mix to prevent them becoming clumpy
  4. In a pan, on medium heat, melt butter and add flour. Keep mixing till the flour starts to stick slightly to the pan
  5. Add milk (room temp) to this while stirring continuously till it is smooth.
  6. Let it simmer on low heat for 5 mins and add salt and pepper along with syracuse blend mix.
  7. Add in cheese and mix well
  8. Add macaroni and stir. Keep aside
  9. Make a thick paste with 2tbsp all purpose flour and little water
  10. Cut rectangular strips from square spring roll sheets. If they are already rectanglular, then use them as is
  11. Place little macaroni at the left bottom corner and fold inwards making a triangle
  12. Fold in a triangular shape in the opposite direction, and continue till sheet is used up.
  13. Seal it by using thick all purpose flour paste.
  14. Fry in hot oil till golden and serve hot
