ABOUT Chicken Syracuse Berry Pulao RECIPE

A fusion of American spices from Sprig Syracuse to blend with Zoroastrian berry pulao..what a combination!! Believe me, nothing can go wrong here..everything being perfect at its own place, all together do make a scrumptious delight. Only prerequisite is Sprig syracuse spice mix and good quality long grain rice and you are good to go with your best berry pulao ever!

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Chicken pieces 4-5
  2. Sprig Syracuse spice mix 2 teaspoon
  3. Long grain basmati rice 1 cup (I used Dawat biryani basmati here)
  4. Tomato 1 medium
  5. Ginger garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  6. Onion 1 medium
  7. Ghee 2 tablespoon
  8. Dries Cranberries 1 teaspoon
  9. Pistachios 1 teaspoon
  10. Saffron few strands
  11. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak rice in water for 30 minutes
  2. Marinate chicken in 1 teaspoon syracuse spice and salt to taste mix for 15 minutes
  3. Cut onion into thin long strips
  4. Puree tomato with ginger garlic paste in grinder
  5. Put 2 cups water for boiling and add soaked rice, 1/2 teaspoon ghee and salt to boiling water.
  6. In a pan add 1 teaspoon ghee and fry onion till it caramelises
  7. Take out onion and keep aside
  8. In the same pan add dried cranberries and pistachios and saffron and quickly take it out after slight warming in hot ghee.
  9. Take little ghee also out with berries so as to use it for sprinkling over rice
  10. Now add some more ghee in pan and add marinated chicken,
  11. Roast marinated chicken from both sides till tender
  12. Take the chicken out in pan
  13. Now add pureed tomato with ginger garlic paste in the same pan.
  14. Add remaining syracuse spice mix (1 teaspoon) and salt
  15. Mix well and switch off the flame after the puree comes to boil
  16. Meanwhile also keep a check on rice. Once done, switch off flame and drain excess water if required
  17. Now get ready to plate the delicacy..
  18. Spread rice, serve chicken on side
  19. Pour tomato gravy and garnish with caramelized onion and cranberry pistachio mixture
  20. Mix well and just grab..
