Its a healthy and tasty desserts. And a very good subsitute for those who don't like to eat LAUKI.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 Kg Bottle Gourd (Lauki)
  2. 500 ml milk
  3. 3/4 cup Sugar or less as per taste
  4. Cardamom powder 1 tsp
  5. 8-10 chopped almonds
  6. 8-10 Chopped Cashewnuts
  7. 2 tblspn raisins
  8. 1 tblspn Chopped Pista
  9. Clarified Butter (Ghee) 1 tblspn


  1. First peel and remove seeds of Bottle gourd.
  2. Wash well and grate in a bowl.
  3. Squeeze the water from Grated Lauki and keep aside.
  4. Now in a heavy bottom kadhahi or pan heat up 1 tblspn Ghee.
  5. Add Grated Lauki and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Cover the lid and cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes so that Lauki gets little soft.
  7. Remove the lid and mix well.
  8. Add milk and increase the flame on Medium.
  9. Mix well and cook for 10-12 minutes or till kheer become thick and creamy. Stir in between.
  10. After 10-12 minutes check the kheer if milk and Lauki combines well then add sugar and mix well.
  11. Cook for 4-5 minutes more.
  12. Add ilayachi Powder and Dry Fruits.
  13. Mix well cook for 2 minutes and switch off the flame.
  14. Your Tasty and healthy Lauki Paysam is ready to serve.
