ABOUT Sticky Toffee Pudding RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  2. 1 1/2 cup flour
  3. 1 1/2 cup dates (chopped and pitted)
  4. 1 tsp baking soda
  5. 1 tsp Baking powder
  6. 1/2 tsp Salt
  7. 1 cup sugar
  8. 1 tsp vanilla essence
  9. 2 large eggs
  10. For the Sauce:
  11. 1 1/4 cup brown sugar
  12. 1/2 cup Cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 degree centigrade. Boil the dates in 1 1/4 cup water and add baking soda, it will bubble. Keep aside to cool.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Keep aside.
  3. Using an electric mixer, beat butter, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl. Add 1 egg and blend.
  4. Add half of the flour mixture and half of the date mixture, beat to blend. Repeat with 1 egg, flour mixture and date mixture. Pour batter into molds.
  5. Bake until a tester inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean this takes about 40 to 45 minutes. Cool on a wire rack, inverted.
  6. For the SAUCE: Bring sugar, cream and butter to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla essence. Cool for some time.
  7. Serve the pudding inverted on a plate and pour some sauce over it. Warm the sauce and the pudding before serving for best taste. Garnish with a walnut.
