Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 2 cup dosa rice
  2. 1 cup paper poha
  3. 4 cup water
  4. 1 tea spoon salt
  5. 1/4 cup cooking oil


  1. Wash and soak rice for 3-4 hours.
  2. Grind the rice and poha together to a smooth paste adding water 2 cup at a time.
  3. Add the required salt and make a smooth batter. Make sure you grind the batter thick like set dosa batter.
  4. Pour the batter into a big vessel add still one more cup of water. Cover the vessel with a lid and keep aside in warm place to ferment for 6-7 hours or overnight.
  5. Mix the batter well. If it is too thick, you may add little water and mix well.
  6. Heat iron dosa tawa or non-stick tawa and pour a ladleful of batter in the center of tawa.
  7. Make it thick like set dosa. Spread itself. You don't have to spread it.
  8. Drizzle a tea spoon of oil around the dosa and cover the dosa pan with lid.
  9. Cook in medium flame till the top of dosa cooks well with small holes here and there.
  10. Once it is almost cooked, flip it over the other side and cook for 30 seconds.
  11. Repeat the same process for the rest of the batter.
  12. Remove the dosa and serve in hot.
