Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. maida or All purpose flour 2cups
  2. butter or ghee 1 table spoon
  3. salt a pinch
  4. water little
  5. oil for deep fry
  6. For stuffing
  7. coconut grated 1/2 cup
  8. jaggery 3/4th to 1 cup
  9. Elachi pods 3 or 4
  10. Bombay rava 1/2 cup
  11. Roasted Chana dal 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. 1. In a bowl add maida and butter/ghee mix well. Now add a pinch of salt. Slowly add water in intervals add preapare a soft dough like puri dough. Cover it with a wet cloth and rest the dough for 30minutes.
  2. 2. In a mixing bowl take grated coconut , powdered jaggery, elachi powder , roasted chana dal powder and bombay rava. Mix alla ingredients well. Now the stuffing is ready.
  3. 3.Make small rounds pooris. Apply water to the edges with spoon r brush. Put the stuffing in poori and fold it. Seal the edges carefully. Fold the edges tightly as shown in the image.
  4. 4. In a frying pan, add oil. Heat on medium flame and fry the kajjikayalu till golden brown.
  5. 5. Take out the kajjikayalu and put them on a tissue paper so that the extra oil is absorbed. Now the kajjikayalu are ready to served. Garnish with grated coconut(optional).
