Masala Vegetable Rice

Ingredients to make Masala Vegetable Rice

  • Green peas 1/4 cup
  • carrots - finely chopped 1
  • Sweet corns 1/4 cup
  • White rice (Gobindo Bhog rice) 2 cups
  • Yellow/ salted butter 1 tablespoon
  • kalonji/ kala jeera 1/4 teaspoon
  • chilly powder to taste
  • salt to taste

How to make Masala Vegetable Rice

  1. Prepare the rice separately and keep it aside. Ensure the rice doesn't get sticky
  2. Keep aside a bowl of green peas, sweet corn and chopped carrots, all clean and dried
  3. Heat a non stick wok, add yellow butter, now temper it with kala jeera/ kalonji
  4. Add carrots saute, after a while add sweet corns wait till half done
  5. Then add the green peas, once the vegetables are almost cooked add the rice, mix very well
  6. Add salt and red chilly powder
  7. Serve hot with some vegetable fritters or any veg/ non-veg curry
