Sweet Thinai/ Foxtail Millet Pongal

Ingredients to make Sweet Thinai/ Foxtail Millet Pongal

  • Foxtail millet / Thinai 3/4 cup
  • moong dal 1/4 cup
  • Channa dal 1 tablespoon
  • jaggery 1/4 cup
  • coconut grated
  • Cardamon powder
  • For seasoning ghee
  • cashew
  • raisins

How to make Sweet Thinai/ Foxtail Millet Pongal

  1. Dry roast 3/4 cup millet
  2. Dry roast 1/4 cup moong dal and 1 tablespoon channa dal
  3. Rinse millet and dal. Boil/pressure cook with 3 cups of water
  4. Stir occasionally
  5. Boil jaggery with little water
  6. Prepare jaggery syrup
  7. Strain impurities
  8. Add cooked millet dal with jaggery syrup
  9. Mix well
  10. Add cardamon powder and grated coconut
  11. Add ghee
  12. Add seasoning to pongal. Mix well
