Ingredients to make RAM LADOO

  • Yellow moong dal 1 cup
  • chana dal 1/4 cup
  • cumin powder 2Tsp
  • ginger paste 1Tbsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves 1Tbsp
  • hing A pinch
  • red chilli powder 1/2 Tsp
  • Eno or baking soda 1/2 Tsp
  • salt to taste
  • oil for deep frying
  • Shreddef mooli 1 Medium
  • Green chutney 1 cup
  • tamarind chutney 1 cup
  • Chaat masala A pinch to sprinkle on top
  • Chopped coriander 1Tbsp
  • lemon juice 2Tbsp

How to make RAM LADOO

  1. Soak yellow moong dal and chana dal for 4 hours.
  2. After the soaking time drain water from dal.
  3. Add dal to mixer grinder.
  4. Grind it to a fine paste.
  5. It should be very fine and not grainy.
  6. Transfer grounded dal to a large bowl and add chilli powder,ginger paste,chopped coriander,salt,hing and cumin powder.
  7. Mix everything together and adjust seasonings.
  8. Beat batter for couple of minutes.This results in fluffy ladoos.
  9. Add baking soda/eno and beat the batter again.
  10. Batter should be thick.Heat oil in kadai
  11. Add ladoos to the hot oil and fry until golden in color.
  12. Remove from oil and set it on paper towel to drain excess oil.
  14. Wash and peel mooli.
  15. Shred mooli into thin long strands.
  16. Take few ladoos in a bowl.
  17. Top them with green chutney.
  18. Add Tamarind chutney.
  19. Top it off wurh shredded mooli strands.
  20. Add some more green chutney on top.
  21. Sprinkle chaat masala,chopped coriander and lemon juice.
  22. Ram Ladoo chaat is ready.

My Tip:

Oil should be sufficient hot for frying ladoos. Add chutney as per taste.
