Delicious one pot option for regular dal and sabji, can be served as it is or with phulka, paratha, puri or best with steamed rice

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Grated with peels bottle guard 2 cups
  2. Chana dal flour 2 tablespoon
  3. Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  4. Red chilly powder 2 teaspoons
  5. Coriander Powder 2 teaspoons
  6. Whole ground masala 1 teaapoon
  7. Black pepper corns 8
  8. Cloves 5
  9. Ginger grated 2 teaspoon
  10. Garlic cloves peeled 8 to 10
  11. Onion chopped 2
  12. Tomato chopped 3 to 4
  13. Water 1 cup
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Oil for deep frying and for Tempering

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl take grated bottle guard, all spices, chana dal flour and salt to taste
  2. Mix well everything
  3. Prepare dumplings
  4. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry dumplings till golden in colour ,and keep turning in between
  5. In a blender take chopped onion, chopped tomato, garlic, cloves, black pepper corns, ginger paste and prep a smooth paste
  6. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil and add Turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander Powder saute till aroma comes
  7. Now add prepared paste and dry till oil separates
  8. Add 1 to 2 cups of water, Whole ground masala and adjust salt and give it a boil
  9. Add dumplings and cook covered for some time
  10. The oily and spicy layer will start floating on top. It's ready to serve now
  11. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot
