Ingredients to make Aloo Palak curry

  • palak 1 bunch
  • green chilli 1
  • garlic cloves 1
  • ginger 1 inch
  • For the palak curry: butter /oil -2 tbsn
  • bay leaf -1
  • cumin seeds - 1 tspn
  • onion 1 finely copped
  • tomato 1 finely copped
  • garlic cloves finely copped
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
  • Potato boiled 2
  • salt to taste
  • Coriender leaves handful
  • cream 1 tspn
  • Silver vark

How to make Aloo Palak curry

  1. Heat a pan and add the washed palak leaves and cook in medium flame.Cook until the leaves reduce in volume.
  2. Once the palak changes its colour immediately add the palak leaves containing ice cold water
  3. Now make a puree of palak adding ginger,green chilli.keep the palak puree aside.
  4. Heat oil/butter in a pan.Add the cumin seeds and bay leaf.. add the finely chopped onions and garlic saute for few second add the finely chopped tomatoes and Fry it transparent
  5. Add the palak pure and stir well.add water as nedded adjusting the consistency.then add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Palak has to cook and thicken.stir well and add the boiled potatoes nd add garam masala powder Cook for a minute or now add a tsp of cream nd chopped coriender mix well nd switch off the Gas.Aloo palak curry is ready. Remove it to a serving bowl. 
  7. Garnish with Silver varak nd Cream nd Serve the Aloo Palak with roti,Salad..
