Ingredients to make Moong dal with palak

  • moong dal with skin- 1/2 cup
  • spinach wash and finally chopped- 1 bundle
  • turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
  • red chilly powder -1/2 tsp
  • Corriender powder -1/2 tsp
  • hing a pinch
  • cumin seed 1/2 tsp
  • Chopped ginger and green chilly -1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder -1/2 tsp
  • ghee -2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • water as required

How to make Moong dal with palak

  1. Wash the moong dal and spinach with running water.
  2. Heat ghee into the cooker and put hing and cumin seed into it. Add chopped ginger and green chilly .saute for a second.
  3. Add turmaric powder. Red chilly powder. Corriender powder. And garam masala powder into it.
  4. Stir with the help of spoon. roast the masala until the ghee starts to flow at the top. Put moog dal and spinach into the masala and roast for a minute.
  5. Add 2-3 glass of water and close the lid of cooker.pressure the cooker for 2-3 whistle.
  6. Turn off the flame. When the pressure is over open the cooker.
  7. Moong dal with spinach is ready. Serve hot with roti or rice.
