The goodness of fresh methi leaves coupled with a few other spices make methi cutlet as irrsistible. The traditional gujarati snack can be steamed or fried depending on your taste or dietiary prefence, the steamed muthiya are good for health while the fried are ones four soul.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup methi chopped
  2. 2 potatoes boiled and mashed
  3. 2 green chili chopped
  4. 1/2 tsp ginger chopped
  5. 1/4 tsp Black salt
  6. 1/4 tsp Red chili powder
  7. 1/2 tsp Chat masala
  8. 1/4 tsp Hing
  9. Salt as per taste
  10. 1/2 cup gram flour
  11. 1/2 cup wheat flour
  12. Oil for deep frying
  13. 1/4 tsp Ajwain
  14. For Cheesy Coriander Dip
  15. 1 green chili
  16. 1/2 inch ginger
  17. 1 /2 tsp Salt
  18. 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
  19. 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  20. 1/2 tsp dry mango powder
  21. 1 tbsp Thick curd
  22. 1 tbsp cheese spread
  23. 1 cup Chopped coriander leaves


  1. Wash and chop methi leaves
  2. In a bowl , mix all the ingredients for Muthia except oil
  3. Knead mixture to soft dough
  4. Divide mixture into equal portions and shape like rolls
  5. Drop muthias in hot oil and deep fry over low - medium heat until golden brown
  6. Grind coriander , green chili , ginger ,salt , black salt, cumin seeds and dry mango powder to form smooth paste
  7. Add thick curd and cheese spread to paste and mix well
  8. Enjoy hot hot crunchy methi muthias with cheese coriander curd dip.
